This kind of certainty comes
but once in a lifetime...

It's true.

Well, twice. It's just that the certainty wore off the first time.

Is that photo from the movie I think it's from? Oh...is this a good post or a bad post? A wistful memory or a mind-blowing soul-meld reflection on a present situation? Sorry. I'm being nosy. Bad Do. Great post.

There was no certainty the first time. There were always questions and longing and hope, but no certainty. And this is about certainty on two fronts: the risk I took to leave one year ago, and the certainty of now... definitely a happy post.

But is that hindsight talking? You're a romantic, Deb (a compliment), so I can't imagine you being less of a romantic fifteen years ago.

But as for the certainty of leaving, yes. You did the right thing. And you made it through the struggles and self-doubt and found more of yourself because of it. You're probably stronger and more capable than you've ever been.

And my comment (perhaps cynical) was not to be taken negatively with respect to your current certainty with a certain fellow. He seems most excellent.

I was only commenting on the hidden humour inherent in "certainty" and human psychology. A lot of things are always certain until they no longer are.

My current hope is that time reveals your current certainties to be most definitely certain. :) Your current certainties are definitely most excellent and they bring you a lot of happiness. And I'm happy when you're happy, Deb.

I think that sometimes you think you are certain until you find out that you can feel more certainter :)and that kind of certainty does come only once or if you are VERY lucky...twice! Congratulations!!

"...and in that moment, everything she knew to be true about herself up until then was gone. She was acting like another woman, yet she was more herself than ever before."

Deb, I wish you could see the smile I have on my face for you. I hope you have finally found your Kincaid and the happiness you have longed for. ;-)
